RIDDICK: FURYA- Vin Diesel’s Long Delayed Next Chapter for His Anti-Hero Finally Gets the Green Light!

Here’s a little bit of interesting news from last week that I’m now catching up on and it has to do with Dominic Toretto himself Vin Diesel and his other franchise that is widely popular besides Fast & Furious. It appears that Diesel’s long delayed fourth chapter in his RIDDICK saga, titled RIDDICK: FURYA is finally going to happen.

I’ve done a few reports a ways back but nothing had gained any traction until this week when the action star and franchise director David Twohy both made the announcement that the next phase in the anti-hero’s adventures is finally going to rev up.

RIDDICK was formally introduced in the ass kicking sci-fi, action, horror hybrid Pitch Black in 2000. The franchise went into hyper drive with 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick, and then settled back into a stalker scale flick like the first in 2013’s Riddick.

Twohy has helmed the franchise and will return once more with star Vin Diesel who will also produce via his One Race Films banner along with Samantha Vincent.

The official synopsis for the new film which will be shopped for worldwide sales at this week’s EFM reads:

Riddick finally returns to his homeworld, a place he barely remembers and one he fears might be left in ruins by the Necromongers. But there he finds other Furyans fighting for their existence against a new enemy. And some of these Furyans are more like Riddick than he could have ever imagined.

The second movie took some criticism hirs for going to big and loud unlike the first film but I have loved each of them for my own reasons. Aside from Toretto, Riddick is Diesel’s most tantalizingly character and it is nothing short of awesome to see this fourth installment finally hit the ground running.

Our legion fans have demanded it for years, and now we’re finally ready to honor their call-to-action with Riddick: Furya. My collaboration with Vin and One Race has spanned 20 fruitful years, as together we’ve created three movies, two video games, an anime production, and motion comics for the internet. This new big-screen event will see a return to Riddick’s homeworld, where we finally get to explore Riddick’s genesis,” said Twohy in an official statement.
