DC’s Hierarchy is About to Change in the New Trailer for BLACK ADAM!

By: John M Jerva

Something bad ass this way comes. We’ve seen images and a teaser trailer that dropped last year but nothing is as awesome as the full, extended trailer that Warner Bros. dropped today for their ambitious and highly anticipated DCEU film Black Adam. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stars in his biggest role yet as DC’s ultimate bad ass anti-hero and the new footage opens up a large and intimidating can of whoop ass for genre fans to relish in. The Rock is certainly enjoying himself with this role and now October 21st cannot come fast enough as the hierarchy in the DC universe is about to get one swift kick in the ass. Take a look below!

From New Line Cinema, Dwayne Johnson stars in the action adventure “Black Adam.” The first-ever feature film to explore the story of the DC Super Hero comes to the big screen under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra (“Jungle Cruise”).

Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

Johnson stars alongside Aldis Hodge (“City on a Hill,” “One Night in Miami”) as Hawkman, Noah Centineo (“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”) as Atom Smasher, Sarah Shahi (“Sex/Life,” “Rush Hour 3”) as Adrianna, Marwan Kenzari (“Murder on the Orient Express,” “The Mummy”) as Ishmael, Quintessa Swindell (“Voyagers,” “Trinkets”) as Cyclone, Bodhi Sabongui (“A Million Little Things”) as Amon, and Pierce Brosnan (the “Mamma Mia!” and James Bond franchises) as Dr. Fate.

Collet-Serra directed from a screenplay by Adam Sztykiel and Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani, screen story by Adam Sztykiel and Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani, based on characters from DC. Black Adam was created by Bill Parker and C.C. Beck. The film’s producers were Beau Flynn, Dwayne Johnson, Hiram Garcia and Dany Garcia, with Richard Brener, Walter Hamada, Dave Neustadter, Chris Pan, Eric McLeod, Geoff Johns and Scott Sheldon.

“Black Adam” smashes into theaters and IMAX internationally beginning 19 October 2022 and in North America on October 21, 2022. It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.

There’s no shortage of “F&ck Yeah!!!” moments to be had with this one but the standouts for me is when the mercenaries open up with their heavy weaponry and Black Adam simply levitates off the ground. That scene is a spectacle. Another standout moment is when Aldis Hodge’s Hawkman calmy tells Black Adam that heroes don’t kill people to which Adam coldly replies…“I do.” Johnson has found his franchise here and the future is bright or dark however you want to look at it. it’s all good in my book.

The film was recently doing reshoots as of late, but Johnson took to social media last night to confirm that it’s a wrap on the movie and it’s coming like a freight train.

Along with Johnson’s Black Adam, the film is also set to introduce a host of iconic characters from the DC universe and the Justice Society of America is coming in the form of Noah Centineo is onboard to play Atom Smasher, with Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate.

Black Adam is a popular DC character who was once the archenemy of Shazam! who was first known as Captain Marvel. Adam was an Egyptian prince who was selected by the wizard Shazam! To continue on as his champion. The ultimate power corrupted him however and he became evil until later on in the comics he was turned into more of an anti-hero.

Black Adam is helmed by Jaume Collet-Serra and the movie also stars Marwan Kenzari, and Sarah Shai.

Get ready because he’s coming on October 21st in theaters only!
