Deadline is bringing official word that Suicide Squad and Fury director David Ayer has signed on to helm the upcoming Jason Statham led action pic The Beekeeper. The film will be shopped at the Cannes Film Market and is being described as a hot package, whatever the hell that means. I always love the terminology that Hollywood uses. It’s a hot package everyone so get excited!
According to the description, The Beekeeper will be “steeped in the mythology of beekeeping.” The film will also center on Statham’s character and will “be a fast-paced action-thriller that follows a man’s personal journey of vengeance which takes on national stakes.”
In other words, The Stath is going to star as one pissed off beekeeper who’s going to go apeshit one some unfortunate bad guys.
Equilibrium helmer Kurt Wimmer penned the script which was snagged by Miramax and the film will be one of the hottest specs at the Cannes Festival. Statham will also produce along with Wimmer.
Statham has a variety of films coming out in the future including Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre which was unfortunately shelved earlier this year and is currently sitting on the sidelines with no release date. The action star will also be seen in the highly anticipated sequels Expendables 4 and Meg 2: The Trench.
Keep it locked and loaded right here for more Statham news to follow on The Beekeeper and all other projects as we are your destination for everything action in 2022 and beyond! This is a hot package everyone so red alert!!!!
