It was last June when I made the announcement that stuntman turned director James Bamford would be helming his first actioner titled Jade which brings together an eclectic cast in stunt professional Shaina West (Black Widow), martial arts-action star Mark Dacascos and Mickey Rourke. The female centric themed thriller will feature West as a former professional who must pick up arms again when innocents are in the crosshairs.
Deadline has brought the word that cameras are now rolling on the film which recently added another cast member in Katherine McNamara (Shadowhunters). Marcus Vincios Maciel also stars.
Bamford is the latest stunt maestro to transition to directing and this film looks like it’ll benefit from his expertise when it comes to the action sequences. History has proven that stunt professionals are the best ones to direct action so keep the trend going.

Official Synopsis: The film centers on Jade (West), who swore she’d never pick up another gun after her brother’s untimely and accidental death at her own hands. But when she unknowingly comes between powerful businessman “Tork” (Rourke) and her former gang leader (Maciel) in their urgent search for a valuable hard drive that could single-handedly take down Interpol, she may not have a choice.
Jade’s incredible skills are tested as she must run, climb, hide, fight and do whatever it takes to protect not only herself, and the precious cargo she carries, but also her brother’s ex-girlfriend, Layla (McNamara) who is carrying something precious of her own: Jade’s unborn nephew. With the guidance of Reese (Dacascos), an old friend at Interpol, Jade must come to terms with all she’s faced in the past and present to defeat insurmountable odds and clear a path to her growing family’s future.

Principal photography is taking place in Albuquerque. Glenn Ennis and Lynn Colliar penned the script and the film will hopefully hit during quarter four of this year.
Bamford has worked at Warner Bros. on such projects like Blade: Trinity, Aliens VS Predator as well as the TV shows Arrow, Supergirl and most recently Superman and Lois.
With the level of talent involved and another stunt maestro at the helm, I’m excited for this one so keep it locked and loaded right here for more as we are your destination for everything action in 2022 and beyond!
