Another day, another news post about Frank Grillo joining a movie. This time, The Purge star is enlisting for the new action-thriller King of Killers which will also feature martial arts star Alain Moussi. Redbox Entertainment and Red Sea Media have are onboard for worldwide rights to the film which is currently scheduled to go in front of the cameras in Canada later this month.
The King of Killers tells the story of a group of international assassins who are contracted to take out the most dangerous killer in the world. Per Deadline.
The film will be directed by Underworld story creator and star Kevin Grevioux. Aside from creating several of the characters in the Underworld franchise, Grevioux also starred in the original as one of the Lycans called Raze.
In the film, Moussi will play a “hitman who reluctantly takes part in a $10m assassin competition in Tokyo in order to save his daughter’s life.” Besides helming the film, Grevioux also wrote the screenplay as well.
In a past article for Screen Daily, Moussi described the new project as “fresh and fun” and also stated that “Kevin has a brilliant vision for the action and visual style of King Of Killers and the first-class KOK team is passionate about bringing that vision to life.”
I’ve been looking forward to this one since it was first announced back in February of last year so it’s great to finally hear that production is gearing up. The film is based on a graphic novel of the same name and from the mood of it, fans will be given a definite adrenaline shot of fisticuffs and firepower.
Grillo is virtually unstoppable in the action genre right now and teaming with Moussi will definitely bring the heat and top tier action set pieces. Put this one on top of your must see list for next year.
Tune in tomorrow when I post another article about Grillo signing up for a new movie. Keep it locked and and loaded right here for more to follow on King Of Killers as we are your destination for everything action in 2022 and beyond!
