THE CONTINENTAL: The JOHN WICK Prequel Series Adds More Cast Members to the 3 Night Starz Event Series!

By: John M Jerva

The long awaited Starz prequel series to John Wick, formerly known as The Continental, has been quiet as of late after major cast announcements were made last year. The series which will see the history of the famous hotel explored is set to star Colin Woodell as a younger version of Winston, Ayomide Adegun as Charon, Hubert Point-Du Jour as Miles, Jessica Allain as Lou, Mishel Prada as KD, Nhung Kate as Yen, Ben Robson as Frankie, Peter Greene as Uncle Charlie and Jeremy Bobb as Mayhew.

The biggest casting news came in the form of Mel Gibson who will play a new character named Cormac.

Now we have new announcements to make as it has been reported that Katie McGrath, of Merlin and Supergirl fame, has joined the series. McGrath will play the role of The Adjudicator who is a member of the high table and was introduced in the last film. Here’s hoping she won’t be as annoying as Asia Kate Dillon was in the third film.

Joining McGrath are Ray McKinnon (Rectify) as Jenkins, Adam Shapiro (Never Have I Ever), as Lemmy, Mark Musashi (Fear of the Walking Dead), and Marina Mazepa (Malignant). Musashi and Mazepa will reportedly be playing two assassins named appropriately enough Hansel and Gretal.

The Starz series will be a prequel and will be a three night event for the pay cable service and Book of Eli director Albert Hughes will helm episodes 1 and 2.

“The Continental will explore the origin behind the hotel-for-assassins, which increasingly has become the centerpiece of the John Wick universe. This will be accomplished through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, who is dragged into the Hell-scape of a 1975 New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the New York’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the iconic hotel, which serves as the meeting point for the world’s most dangerous criminals.”

Executive producers Greg Coolidge (Wayne, Ride Along) and Kirk Ward (Wayne) are penning the event series and will also serve as the showrunners. Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, Stahelski, Kolstad, David Leitch, Shawn Simmons, Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese will all serve as executive producers on the ambitious project.

Keep it locked and loaded right here for more on The Continental as we are your destination for everything action in 2022 and beyond!
