There’s no denying that Warner Bros The Batman is one of the 2022’s hotly anticipated films of the year. To add more fuel to the fire, a new Japanese, international trailer has dropped which teases a more layered relationship between The Riddler and Bruce Wayne. Check out the new footage below!
It’s not just a call… It’s a warning.
From Warner Bros. Pictures comes Matt Reeves’ “The Batman,” starring Robert Pattinson in the dual role of Gotham City’s vigilante detective and his alter ego, reclusive billionaire Bruce Wayne. Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman (Robert Pattinson), striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies—Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright)—amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens.
When a killer targets Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld, where he encounters such characters as Selina Kyle/aka Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), Oswald Cobblepot/aka the Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), and Edward Nashton/aka the Riddler (Paul Dano). As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.

Interestingly enough, it’s being reported that Warner Bros is toying around with two different cuts of the movie with one focusing more on The Joker. It’s being said that Warner Bros is weighing in on whether to save The Joker, rumored to be played by Barry Keoghan, for future installments or show their hand more with this one. We shall wait and see what transpires here.
Robert Pattinson is joined in the film by Zoe Kravitz who is playing Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman), Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot, aka the Penguin, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton, aka the Riddler,Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth who is Bruce Wayne’s most trusted butler and ally.
The Batman is still scheduled for release on March 4, 2022, which saw it delayed twice from the original June and October 2021 dates due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
By all means, watch the awesome second trailer that dropped during the 2021 DC FanDome event!
