Warner Bros. has dropped some kick ass new key art for the highly anticipated The Matrix Resurrections which hits this chronicle theaters and HBOMAX. Keanu Reeves is back as Neo along with Carrie Anne-Moss for the next breathtaking entry in the genre bending blockbuster franchise.

The new posters, which you can see below has a gorgeous Anime look to it with the cast prominently featured to full and rousing effect. Everyone is decked out in traditional black attire except for Yahya Abdul-Mateen II who plays a younger version of Morpheus which Laurence Fishburne portrayed so well in the original trilogy.

“In a world of two realities—everyday life and what lies behind it—Thomas Anderson will have to choose to follow the white rabbit once more. Choice, while an illusion, is still the only way in or out of the Matrix, which is stronger, more secure, and more dangerous than ever before.“

The Matrix Resurrections is helmed by Lana Wachowski from a script co-penned by David Mitchell, Aleksander Hemon and Wachowski herself. Returning cast members include Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith Daniel Bernhardt, and Lambert Willson. New additions for the fourth film include Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas Telma Hopkins, Eréndira Ibarra, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Brian J. Smith, and Christina Ricci.

Even with the synopsis that dropped a while back, details are still kind of scarce still but with the title and footage description, it most likely will deal with Anderson bring resurrected and becoming reacquainted with the world of The Matrix. The trailer does show Neo and Trinity with a massive case of amnesia and not knowing who each other are so evidently this is a strong plot line that will be hit upon. It also shows the grand spectacle of imagery and special effects that have made the original franchise a hit and this one looks to up the ante even more.

The movie was originally set for a May 21, 2021 release, but The Matrix Resurrections is now set to launch in theaters and on HBO Max on December 22, 2021.
