I Come in Peace, AKA Dark Angel, is a fan favorite among genre buffs and one of the most popular sci-fi action films to come out of the 90’s. The film headlined Dolph Lundgren, still sporting his black hair from The Punisher, as a maverick cop who goes up against an intergalactic drug dealer played with steely eyed proficiency by Matthias Hues. The film was without a doubt a great product of the 90’s and featured numerous action sequences and both stars getting a chance to shine with a great climatic brawl between them.
Hues announced all the way back in 2016 that he was actively working on a potential sequel to the film. Unfortunately since that initial report, it’s been radio silent ever since. It’s been over 30 years since the original was released and the ending to it definitely suggested that it was a one shot deal. So why now after all these years is Hues toying around with a follow up?
The veteran action heavy made the above statement five years ago on Impact Online and Facebook per JoBlo.com’s Arrow in the Head and he promised that the wait would be worth it. There has been no new 411 ever since he made that statement but never say never in this business.
Well, it looks like there might be some traction on the proposed sequel as veteran martial arts actor and fight coordinator Mike Möller has debuted a new proof of concept short that shows off Hues in his familiar attire as he mows down a group of baddies with ease. Take a peek at the vid below!
There has been no official word that a sequel is definitely happening but the above video is a step in the right direction. It certainly is a treat to see Hues rocking that look once again even if it’s only for a 24 second test video. The footage was shot in one day according to the video description on YouTube.
Keep it locked and loaded right here for anymore updates on this developing situation as we are your destination for everything action!!!!
In the meantime, watch Lundgren and Hues duke it out mano a mano style from the classic flick!
“I come in peace!”
“And you go in pieces…Asshole!”
