REBEL MOON: Zack Snyder’s Next Netflix Epic is Bringing the Sci-Fi Action STAR WARS Vibe!

By: John M Jerva

Zack Snyder is everywhere these days and now that he’s seen his comic book vision come to life with Justice League and has brought us more zombie mayhem with Army of the Dead, the prolific filmmaker is targeting the sci-fi action realm for his next outing for Netflix.

THR is reporting that his next movie will be called Rebel Moon and it sounds like another prime project for Snyder to give us his patented slo-mo visuals and epic CGI effects. It will also take a page from iconic movies from Akira Kurosawa to Star Wars.

Per THR: The story is set in motion when a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius. Desperate people dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them make a stand.

Snyder will helm and write the film along with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad who also worked with him on Army of the Dead. Snyder will produce along with his wife and partner Deborah Snyder via their Stone Quarry production banner.

“This is me growing up as an Akira Kurosawa fan, a Star Wars fan,” Snyder tells The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s my love of sci-fi and a giant adventure. My hope is that this also becomes a massive IP and a universe that can be built out.”

Love him or hate him, and I for one love him, this sounds pretty damn epic and I’m jazzed to see Snyder do something Star Wars-esque combined with a samurai-Magnificent Seven vibe. Think High Noon at the end of the universe. I’m already doing the casting for the elite warriors in my head.

Keep it locked and loaded right here for more as we are your destination for everything action!
