If you’re a fan of Charlize Theron then this article is going to make you very happy as we have news on two future projects starring the Hollywood A lister.
First up, we have word that a sequel to Theron’s hit Netflix adaptation The Old Guard is active with a script that has already been written. This report comes via Variety who spoke to Theron. The plan is to start filming the anticipated follow up sometime in the first quarter of 2022.

No other details or plot reveals are available at this time but Theron did mention that Marwan Kenzari (Aladdin) and Luca Marinelli (Trust), who played the popular roles of couple Joe and Nicky will indeed be back but there is no word of first film director Gina Prince-Blythewood will return to helm once again.
The first film saw Theron starring in the adaptation based on Greg Rucka and artist Leandro Fernandez’s comic book of the same name and told the story of:
a small group of soldiers, led by a woman named Andromache of Scythia or Andy, who are inexplicably immortal and have been working as mercenaries through the ages. But in the 21st century, the novelty of not dying is long gone as the group gets a jolt in their bones when they discover the existence of a new immortal, a black woman serving in the Marines, at the same time as a nefarious organization captures their undying actions on camera.
Secondly, there is word that a Fast and Furious spin-off centered on Theron’s character of Cipher is also in development. Variety also brings the word for this one as well and mentions that franchise star Vin Diesel is currently having writers work on a spin-off. Cypher first made her debut in The Fate of the Furious and is also a factor in the new F9 that just opened last weekend.

The series will end with installments 10 and 11 but multiple spin-offs are in active development including a sequel to the successful Hobbs and Shaw which starred Dwayne The Rock Johnson and Jason Statham.
