New Character Posters for SNAKE EYES: GI JOE ORIGINS Assembles Heroes & Villains!

If you’re like me then July 23rd can’t get here fast enough as Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins will finally make its long awaited debut in cinemas.

Paramount Pictures and Hasbro have officially released new character posters featuring the movie’s cast of heroes and villains. Peek at the first image of Iko Uwais as The Hard Master and the rest of the crew below in all their motion poster glory!

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins stars Henry Golding as Snake Eyes, a tenacious loner who is welcomed into an ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage after saving the life of their heir apparent. Upon arrival in Japan, the Arashikage teach Snake Eyes the ways of the ninja warrior while also providing something he’s been longing for: a home. But, when secrets from his past are revealed, Snake Eyes’ honor and allegiance will be tested – even if that means losing the trust of those closest to him. Based on the iconic G.I. Joe character, Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins also stars Andrew Koji as Storm Shadow, Úrsula Corberó as The Baroness, Samara Weaving as Scarlett, Haruka Abe as Akiko, Tahehiro Hira as Kenta and Iko Uwais as Hard Master.

I know that a lot of fans are already crying foul with this interpretation because Snake-Eyes is supposed to be unseen and mysterious but as a longtime fan speaking, I’m ok with changing things if it’s done well. I’m a fanboy, yes, but I’m a fanboy that can accept change if the material is handled with respect and the fan base that made this character isn’t ignored. My only argument in the past is that with Golding playing the lead, we might not get as much masked Snake as we would like. Only time will tell on that front but not having Golding in full Snake-Eyes garb for a majority of the film might be the deal breaker in my eyes.

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins is helmed by Robert Schwentke (The CaptainRED) from a script penned by Evan Spiliotopoulos. The film also stars a sensational international cast that includes Iko Uwais (Headshot) as Hard Master, Andrew Koji (WarriorPeaky Blinders) as Strom Shadow, Peter Mensah (Jason X300) as Blind Master, Takehiro Hira (Lost Girls and Love Hotels) as Kenta, Haruka Abe (Kiss Me FirstCruella) as Akiko, Steven Allerick (The ExpanseExtant) as Father, Samuel Finzi (The Captain) as Augustine, and Simon Chin (Killing EveOutcast) as Hama.

July 23rd is the date and only in theaters, so get ready for some Arashakage style blood letting as the swords are gonna fly in this one! Bring on the extended trailer!!!
