KATE: Mary Elizabeth Winstead goes Full On JOHN WICK in Netflix’s New Assassin Actioner!

By: John M Jerva

I’m on a much needed vacation and still plugging away at some of the coolest Action news this past week while soaking up some killer rays and enjoying some R&R. Here’s an upcoming actioner that looks enticing and this time it’s Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s turn to go full on John Wick in the female centric action pic Kate.

EW unveiled some new images from the Netflix action film and Winstead looks absolutely kick ass in the new images. Take a look in the gallery below!

The office synopsis courtesy of Winstead herself reads:

“Kate is a ruthless assassin who is on a job in Tokyo, and she gets poisoned. She finds out she has 24 hours to live before the poison kills her, she sets out on a mission to find out who poisoned her and kill them before she dies. Along the way, she forges this bond with this teenage girl named Ani (Miku Martineau), and they end up taking on this mission together. It’s a heartfelt, brutal, assassin story!”

Sounds like a bloody good time to me so sign me up! The whole 24 hours to live has been done before and quite well I might add by Ethan Hawke in 24 Hours to Live so we’ll see how this one does with the formula. The film is set in the land of the rising sun aka Japan and it also stars Woody Harrelson who portrays Kate’s handler as well as Tadanobu Asano, Michiel Huisman, and Jun Kunimura.

Kate is due to hit Netflix sometime in the fall of this year so keep it locked and loaded right here for more 411 to come as we are your destination for everything action! Signing off from Myrtle Beach!!!
