It’s been a while since I’ve seen Maggie Q in a new action pic and I’ve been waiting ever since she finished her run on The CW’s Nikita. The wait is almost over as she’s set to hit screens in the new action-thriller titled The Protégé. Also starring Samuel L Jackson and an impressive cast, check out the new action packed footage below!

Rescued as a child by the legendary assassin Moody (Samuel L. Jackson) and trained in the family business, Anna (Maggie Q) is the world’s most skilled contract killer. But when Moody – the man who was like a father to her and taught her everything she needs to know about trust and survival is brutally killed, Anna vows revenge. As she becomes entangled with an enigmatic killer (Michael Keaton) whose attraction to her goes way beyond cat and mouse, their confrontation turns deadly and the loose ends of a life spent killing will weave themselves ever tighter.

Along with Q and Jackson is a stellar supporting cast including Michael Keaton and genre favorite Robert Patrick with Martin Campbell of Casino Royale fame directing from a script penned by Richard Wenk (The Equalizer, 16 Blocks).

You can basically take my money now because with this cast and the adrenaline pumping footage that resembles John Wick, this looks like one hell of a ride with Q proving once again that she’s one of the top female action actors working today.
