Olivia Liang Carries the Legacy in the New Trailer For The CW’s KUNG FU!

Like it or not The CW has unveiled a new trailer for their reboot of the classic David Carradine classic Kung Fu. This time around, the series will be female led with Olivia Liang picking up the legacy this time around.

Official Synopsis: Nicky (Liang) uses her martial arts skills and Shaolin values to protect her community and bring criminals to justice … all while searching for the ruthless assassin (Gwendoline Yeo) who killed her Shaolin mentor and is now targeting her.”

The series also stars Tzi Ma and Kheng Hua Tan who play Nicky’s parents, Shannon Dang as her sister who is a tech whiz, Jon Prasida portraying her brother, Gavin Stenhouse is her ex-boyfriend and an Assistant District Attorney, and Eddie Lui who will be her love interest on the show.

The CW’s Walker reboot has been disappointing to say the least so here’s hoping this one is a little more exciting. This trailer is only a little more than a minute long but it looks pretty good and Liang looks natural in the martial arts aspect of the scenes.

The series premieres on April 7th on The CW so check out the new teaser below!
