News out of the Berlin’s virtual European Film Market has an official first look image of Mel Gibson from the upcoming action-thriller Panama which is based on true events and also stars Cole Hauser. Highland Film Group which is handling worldwide distribution at the Berlin event released the image of Gibson holding a gun which you can see below!

Per THR: Gibson plays Stark, a former commander who sends James Becker, a rugged and decorated ex-marine (Hauser), undercover to execute a high-value deal with untrustworthy adversaries. While navigating the chaos of the local civil war, Becker must fight assassins, court femmes fatales and negotiate with the enemy in order to complete his mission.
With Stark always by his side, Becker perseveres against all odds in hopes of making it home alive. Gibson has a co-starring role in the thriller from Highland Film Group that shot in Puerto Rico in December.
The movie is helmed by Mark Neveldine who is no stranger to action having made numerous genre films in the past like the Crank films with Jason Statham and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance with Nicolas Cage.
Panama is based on real life events that took place in the country in 1989 and it reunited Hauser with Gibson who previously worked together on Paparazzi. Daniel Adams and William R. Barber penned the script.
Gibson will be seen next on Friday when Boss Level officially hits Hulu.
