When COVID-19 hit last year, many film productions were forced to halt as the world tried to navigate through the pandemic wit’s safety a top priority. One of the films that ceased production was Donnie Yen’s latest rescue flick Jidi Soujiu which is also known as Polar Search and Rescue.
Well, a full year later, Yen has taken to his official Instagram account to announce that filming has once again commenced on the project and you can check it out below!
In the post above, Yen states that this is the best script he has ever read in any language and that it will be “an amazing and touching story.” Not much is known about the film although it is evident that it will be a thrilling search and rescue themed thriller set in the cold mountains of China.
This film is certainly a change of pace for Yen as he is best known for his high-octane martial arts and action films. Yen and crew had just started production early last year when they were forced to shut down due to the pandemic.
Yen can currently be seen in Disney’s live action adaptation of Mulan and also had the police actioner Raging Fire from late director Benny Chan hitting Chinese theaters in April.
Keep it locked and loaded right here for more on Yen’s latest as we are your destination for everything action!
