THE UPRISE: Art Imitates Life as a Virus Breaks Out in the New Chinese Sci-Fi Thriller!

By: The Arty Dans

This is something very interesting – a Chinese sci-fi movie about a virus outbreak!

This movie had a very limited cinema run, around 4 days at the end of July in selected cinemas in China. This is not unusual for China as there are almost 1000 movies produced each year and getting access to cinemas is very competitive. Watching the trailer brings an eerie vibe to what’s happening around the world this year. A deadly virus that has lay dormant in the snow of the local mountain melts due to climate change and infiltrates the water system of a local town, making the citizens crazy.

An interesting plot, this one might be a cult favourite if we see an English subtitle release.
