Here’s an interesting looking action project coming out of Russia. Are you ready for some Russian Ass kicking inspired by Gareth Evans’ 2011 martial-arts hit The Raid? Well that’s what we’re getting with the new film apply titled Russian Raid.
According to Screen Daily, the film, which was helmed by first time director Denis Kryuchkov, stars Ivan Kotic as well as some serious real life fight talent in Powerlifting world record holder Kirill Sarychev and world heavyweight kickboxing champion Vladimir Mineev.
Russian Raid centers on a former Russian special forces operative who is hired to eliminate security at a shady local factory. But the factory is owned by a warlord connected to the Russian military and his group of highly-trained fighters won’t go down easily. Isn’t that always the case.
With a script penned by Robert Orr, the film was able to finish production before the COVID-19 shutdown so it will be released in Russia later this year before it hits around the world. Other territories already sold to include former Yugoslavia (MCF) and Taiwan (MovieCloud) as well as Japan (IPA), South Korea (Laon-I) and Australia/New Zealand (Madman Entertainment).
An international trailer was released a while back, which you can view below, and it looks high-octane enough. Russia is certainly trying to crank out some adrenalized pics as of late as the country’s sci-fi film Blackout: Invasion Earth recently premiered here in the U.S. on DVD and Digital. That film looks very sleek an polished so here’s hoping Russian Raid will do the other Raid justice. The trailer certainly peeks one’s interest and is loaded with striking action set pieces.
Keep it locked and loaded right here for more release info but in the meantime, check out the action drenched trailer below.
