Disney Delays MULAN and THE NEW MUTANTS Due to the Coronavirus Outbreak

By: John M Jerva

As I feared yesterday when I reported that Paramount’s A Quiet Place 2 and Universal’s F9 were being delayed due to the Coronavirus scare, more news comes today of even more films to hit limbo land.

Disney has just announced that they will be delaying the release of the highly anticipated live action adaptation Mulan as well as their last Fox/Marvel film The New Mutants. The company issued a statement which pretty much sounds like all the others but you may read it below.

As you know this has been a rapidly evolving situation and I wanted to make you aware that we are postponing the releases of MulanThe New Mutants and Antlers out of an abundance of caution,” Disney said in a statement. “We truly believe in the moviegoing experience, and we are looking at new potential 2020 release dates to be announced at a later date.”

In due time, there will be no major new releases in the foreseeable future and with Marvel’s Black Widow supposed to hit on May 1st, expect that film to hit purgatory as well as the virus scare is keeping all major events and movie releases from happening. The good news is that they said that the films will be released later this year unlike F9 which Universal made the decision to postpone it over a year to April of 2021.

The New Mutants has been delayed for years now and fans were actually excited about getting to finally see it but alas it was not meant to be again.

I will try my best to keep you informed of this ever constant changing situation so keep it locked and loaded right here for more 411 to come.
