The new live action Mortal Kombat movie might be all the rage at the moment with the legions of die hard fans but we got some new 411 on a new animated adventure coming our way this year. Check out the newly released film logo below courtesy of Warner Bros.
The news comes via The Hollywood Reporter and the site expands on the story giving us the voice talents involved in the film.
The biggest names in the report are Joel McHale (Community) who will lend his voice to Johnny Cage and Dexter’s Jennifer Carpenter who will play Sonya Blade. Other voice casting includes Jordan Rodrigues as Lui Kang; Patrick Seitz as Scorpion and Hanzo Hasashi; Steve Blum as Sub-Zero; Artt Butler as Shang Tsung; Darin De Paul as Quan Chi; Robin Atkin Downes as Kano; David B. Mitchell as Raiden; Ike Amadi as Jax Briggs; Kevin Michael Richardson as Goro; Grey Griffin as Kitana and Satoshi Hasashi; and Fred Tatasciore as Demon Torturer.
Ethan Spaulding is helming the project who is best known for the DC animated films Batman: Assault on Arkham, and Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. Jeremy Adams pens the script which is based on the iconic video game created by Ed Boon and John Tobias.
Plot details are non existent at the time but with the title, it’s safe to say that Scorpion will play a major role in it. The film is said to debut in the first half of this year so it will surely satisfy fans who are waiting for the live action version to debut next year. There is also no word yet on whether the film will be adult oriented with the extreme violence that the game is known for.
Keep it locked and loaded right here for all things Mortal Kombat!
