We finally have some new 411 on the highly anticipated John Wick prequel series titled The Continental and it comes courtesy of Deadline. It appears that the series will get a tentative release date for late 2021 which will be after the fourth film hits theaters earlier that year on May 21st.
Per Deadline: Starz President and CEO Jeffrey Hirsch issued the following statement: “I had a meeting on a season pitch for this yesterday. We like the group of writers, and we’re trying to get it in the right place so it doesn’t interfere with the motion picture. It will air sometime after the fourth movie.”
This bodes well for fans who have been anxiously awaiting to hear when we might finally get to lay our eyes on the show which will delve into the rich history of the chain of elite hotels that are located worldwide that offers sole sanctuary for assassins. Business is off limits while on the premise.
Also known is that Lionsgate TV will be the production company with Chris Collins serving as writer and show runner. The series will be executive produced by franchise writer Derek Kolstad as well as Collins and John Wick co-creator and co-Director of the first movie David Leitch.
Interestingly enough, rumors have run rampant that Baba Yaga himself Keanu Reeves will make an appearance but take that with an extreme grain of salt.
