This comes as no surprise really but Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures has delayed the highly anticipated Kaiju smack down of the ages as Godzilla VS Kong has been delayed from its March 13th, 2020 release to November 20th.

The news is not surprising giving the weak performance of Godzilla: King of the Monsters thus year. The film underperformed only making 385.9 million worldwide on an estimated 200 million budget. It’s unfortunate as the movie was the true Kaiju epic that fans like myself have been waiting for.

Warner Bros. Chairman Toby Emmerich has stated in the past that the initial release date would probably be pushed back so they could focus on delivering audiences the “A+” movie we deserve with the two iconic beasts going toe to toe on film.

The one issue now for the film is that it will be in competition with Marvel Studios The Eternals which has a November 6th release date so the competition will be fierce but hopefully seeing these two great mammoths lock horns will fill the seats even note.

Adam Wingard is helming the film and with the delay, I’m staying positive that they will deliver the epic war we truly want. Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, and Zhang Ziyi are returning from the last film with new additions including Julian Dennison, Brian Tyree Henry, Jessica Henwick, Demián Bichir, and Rebecca Hall.

Another blow is now we have even longer to wait for a first look trailer because I am anxiously awaiting to see my childhood monsters smash some serious crap up. Keep it locked and loaded right here for more to drop!
