This is exciting news for all genre fans who have enjoyed seeing Gerard Butler kick some major ass as Secret Service Agent Mike Banning as Angel Has Fallen producer Alan Siegel has confirmed at the AFM that there will be at least 3 more films and also the possibility for local language spin-off series based on the franchise due to the recent success of the third entry in the series.
Per Deadline: “Alan Siegel, the president and CEO of production and management outfit Alan Siegel Entertainment, said that the company is looking at a fourth, fifth and even sixth entry in the series, following a trilogy of global successes to date.”
The article also stated that Siegel mentioned that the IP could be sold to international markets for TV series that will star local talent and those actors could in turn make appearances with Butler in the new series of films.
“If we do it in India, the star of that could come into Angel Has Fallen 4. It could be a symbiotic relationship,” Siegel said.
The film’s producers also talked about how they steered the third film away from the other two to more character driven and that they couldn’t just have another city fall. They also said that that could very well happen again though in future entries.
I personally love the films and I think Butler rocks it as Mike Banning and once again I’ve always believed that Butler is a great throwback action star like we saw in the 80’s and that Mike Banning is this generation’s John McClane.
Keep it locked and loaded right here for more to drop and get ready because Banning is on his way back!
