I’m a huge Nathan Fillion fan and this news courtesy of Deadline is enough to make all of his faithful very excited as the actor most popular for the short lived Firefly cult classic TV series has joined director James Gunn’s Suicide Squad 2!
What is even more fantastic is that the article states that Fillion will be starting in the sequel which means that the fanboy favorite will be heavily involved in the project. Unfortunately, Fillion’s role is top secret at the moment so we don’t know if he’ll be a member of the Squad, a villain or something else.
The actor, who currently stars on ABC’s The Rookie, has a long history with Gunn as he has appeared in Gunn’s Slither, Super and most recently Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, although Fillion’s part didn’t make the final cut.
As of now, Fillion joins cast members Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Margot Robbie And Jai Courtney who are the only known returning actors. Idris Elba has also joined the cast in a mystery role as well as newcomers David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man and Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher. Steve Agee is also involved and will play the role of King Shark. Aggee appeared in Guardians 2 as well.
Suicide Squad 2 is truly shaping up so keep it locked and loaded right here for more details to come!
