August 8th is almost here and with it martial arts and action fans will rejoice with the release of the star powered Netflix martial arts action saga Wu Assassins. The series stars Iko Uwais, Mark Dacascos Byron Mann and more and now we have an exclusive clip from the 10 episode punch fest. Check out the insane acion below!
In the post for the awesome new footage it is stated that “Every clip from Wu Assassins exerts a measurable force of up to 1,800 pounds per square inch so please don’t sit too close to the screen.” Now that’s some advertising if you ask me!
Official Synopsis: The series will follow Kai Jin, an aspiring chef who works in Chinatown in San Francisco. Jin finds out he’s part of a great dynasty of warriors and learns he’s a Wu Assassin. He gets recruited into the order and it’s his task to round up the powers of an ancient triad.
Other great cast members include JuJu Chan who is currently shooting Jiu Jitsu with Alain Moussi, Nicolas Cage, Tony Jaa and Frank Grillo, Lewis Tan who was featured on Into The Badlands, Katheryn Winnick (The Dark Tower), Tommy Flanagan (TV’s Sons of Anarchy), and Tzi Ma (Mulan).
Per a release from Deadline, “Wu Assassins, set in San Francisco’s Chinatown, is a martial arts crime series with supernatural elements. It stars Uwais as Kai Jin, who becomes the latest and last Wu Assassin, chosen to round up the powers of an ancient triad and restore balance once again. Mann plays Uncle Six.”
If this spectacular clip suggests, we are in for some serious fisticuffs and Uwais looks like he may have found his starring vehicle to make him a household name with American audiences. I want some more please!
