The Hollywood Reporter has dropped the 411 that action star Wesley Snipes (BLADE, EXPENDABLES 3) has just signed on to star in and executive produce the zombie action-thriller OUTBREAK Z which will be the directorial debut of veteran stunt professional and fight coordinator Chris Brewster who is most famous for working on Netflix and Marvel’s DAREDEVIL.
Per THR: OUTBREAK Z will ” focuses on two SWAT officers on a desperate hunt through an overrun college campus in search of a man who holds a vaccine to a zombie virus. Snipes will play one of the officers.”
Snipes will executive produce the film via Winter State Entertainment and Hamid Torabpour, Clint Narramore and Andrew Kightlinger co=wrote the script which will also be produced by Peter Wise producing with Hamid, Camille Torabpour, Dr. Mark Smith and Patrick Werksma all serving as executive producers as well.

Brewster is fresh off winning a Taurus Award for Ant-Man and the Wasp and a SAG Award for best fight choreography for Black Panther and it is said that he will fill the production with some of the best stunt talent the industry has to offer.
Most notably, Nashville-based songwriter and producer Eric Arjesis who wrote the song “BAD BLOOD” which was featured in THE WALKING DEAD will compose the film’s score.
Filming is set to begin this summer in Minnesota so expect casting news to hit in the near future. Along with OUTBREAK Z, Snipes is also set to star in and executive produce the action film PAYLINE which “is described as being a cross between heist ensemble Ocean’s 11 and crime thriller Free Fire, with the story centering on a small-town casino that turns into a battleground after two groups of criminals attempt to rob it on the same night. Rob Robol and Jay Boyd wrote the script. Snipes will play the leader of a group of ex-soldiers robbing the casino. It will be his first turn as a villain since Demolition Man, the 1993 sci-fi action movie that also starred Sylvester Stallone and Sandra Bullock.“
